In Shaoxing, visit the Former Residence of Lu Xun, the childhood home and neighborhood of one of modern China’s most influential writers. Walk through the lanes associated with his life and works, including familiar sites such as Baicao Garden, Sanwei Study, and the old streets that evoke the atmosphere of his stories.

Later, enjoy a traditional Wupeng boat ride, a classic Shaoxing experience that takes you through the town’s narrow waterways and old stone bridges. As the boat glides quietly along the canal, you will gain a vivid impression of the Jiangnan lifestyle that shaped Lu Xun’s memories and writings.

After the visit, return to Hangzhou and check in at your hotel.

After breakfast, begin your exploration of Hangzhou’s rich cultural heritage with a visit to Yuewang Temple, dedicated to the patriotic general Yue Fei. This historic site is closely tied to one of China’s best-known heroes and offers insight into the enduring values of loyalty and devotion.

Continue along the northern side of West Lake, where a different side of Hangzhou reveals itself through tree-lined avenues, elegant villas, and historic landmarks. Visit Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society, a cultural institution renowned for traditional Chinese seal carving, calligraphy, and scholarly arts. This area, together with the scenic beauty of West Lake, presents a refined blend of natural and cultural elegance.

After lunch, enjoy a special tea culture experience in the countryside around Hangzhou. Depending on the season, you may stroll through tea gardens and learn about the traditions of local tea production, one of the cultural symbols of the region.

In the afternoon, visit Feilai Peak, famous for its dramatic limestone formations and ancient Buddhist grotto carvings, followed by Lingyin Temple, one of the oldest and most revered Buddhist temples in China. Surrounded by wooded hills and incense-filled halls, Lingyin offers a peaceful and spiritual conclusion to the day.

After the tour, return to your hotel in Hangzhou.

After breakfast, visit the Zhijiang Branch of Zhejiang Provincial Museum, a beautifully designed museum that presents the long history of Zhejiang through archaeological discoveries, cultural relics, and thematic exhibitions. Here you can gain a deeper understanding of the region’s development, including the legacy of the ancient Wuyue Kingdom.
